The Elements & Their Personalities
So, I’ve wanted to find out my element. You know, the one that fits my personality. I didn’t want to be limited to the four basic elements (fire, water, air, earth) but instead be able to choose between so many more elements and things in nature such as ice, metal, or clouds. So, I decided to create my own descriptions off of logic.
It’s hard to do research on elements that aren’t so popular such as clouds, so the more common an element, the more accurate it would be. I’ve gathered information from multiple sources for the four basic elements, but as for the rest, it’s more based on my opinion and understanding of the real thing. Just a heads up! :D
Also heads up, these have nothing to do with astronomy…
Anyways, let’s get to them!
Fire
People based on fire are enthusiastic, impulsive, charismatic, warm, passionate, dramatic, and fun. They love and care very fiercely and are outgoing, gregarious, extroverted people. Their warm, fuzzy personality makes them wonderful friends and they can find themselves surrounded by others who care for them. They’re also natural leaders and performers. Fire people speak and act straight from the heart, honestly and bluntly. They deliver everything with passion and rarely hide their feelings.
However, that passionate, burning fire can quickly turn from love to rage. They have a short temper and can often speak without thinking. Since they’re surrounded by love, they have a tendency to be unfaithful and might blindly hurt the ones close to them. They are also always looking for action.
Fire people are also very athletic. They’re always looking to get stronger and exercising is a great emotional outlet for them. Whether they’re full of rage and punching the guts out of punching bags or playing a sport with their friends, they love to exercise. They also prefer summer and warm weather so they can get outside and exercise.
Overall, fire people are full of passion and strong emotions. They make amazing allies and terrifying enemies.

Air
Air people are logical, their minds always thinking and thinking and thinking even if others cannot see it. They are studious, ambitious, and intelligent. Because of their constant thought, they always think things through and run the pros and cons of their choices before making the decision. They are brilliant, curious, and independent. Free spirited and strong willed, they think for themselves and are not easily manipulated.
However, as changeable as the wind, they can be cold at some times and warm at others. They can be restless and always on a quest for new information. They want to be understood, but they may find themselves having a hard time connecting with others emotionally. Their focus is logic and what makes sense and not everyone gets that. They may say one thing that means well, but other people might take it a completely different way.
As the wind flows and rushes through the world, so do they. They have a hard time settling down and committing to something. It can be both a strength and weakness, helping them move forward through projects, but if they get caught behind, they might abandon it instead of trying to finish it out. They love traveling and seeing the world. They can also be energetic.

Water
Water constantly flows through the world, most of the action happening under the surface. The same goes for water people. They are very emotional, intuitive, and empathetic. That empathy helps them connect to others and makes them compassionate and kind. They’re very trusting and sensitive.
Water people are also deeply creative and spiritual, having vivid imaginations and sometimes are thought to be psychic. Their empathy allows them to connect to people so much, it sometimes seems like they’re reading others’ minds.
Sometimes they get caught up in their imagination, escaping to daydreams when lectures seem too boring. Their dreams are fantastical and full of color. This allows them to express themselves creatively. Water people make excellent musicians, artists, and writers.
Although when spread out too thin, they can be so sensitive and trusting that the outside world can hurt them. Or, sometimes they are so empathetic and caring that they end up carrying others’ burdens and disregard their own. When the outside world is too much, they retreat to their colorful imaginations inside their heads, which can make them secretive and mysterious. Sometimes, however, that unfortunately can lead to depression. Some also suffer from addiction as they look for a way to escape life’s pain.
Water people are amazing people, but they need to learn how to handle the world. They’re so soft and unformed that the world can separate and scatter them around. Practice of meditation among other activities can help center their minds and keep them in one piece.

Earth
The earth is stable and reliable, always solid and in one piece. The same goes for people who are aligned with earth element. They are practical, logical, and determined, always working towards their goals. They can have seemingly impossible goals, but they know that through hard work and determination they can achieve them. Earth people can grow to do amazing things. They’re always curious and strive for more information and to better themselves, focusing on constant improvement and their goals. They are grounded and focused.
Earth people like instruction, rules, and a dependable routine. If it’s not given to them, then they’ll make one themselves. In fact, they usually end up making their own or modifying the ones given to them as they are very organized, ambitious, and perfectionists.
They are also artists and love to creative. With a strong sense of aesthetic, their homes are always welcoming, comfortable, and neat. They also like sticking to their homes and around their towns. They resist change and like predictability, which can be both a strength and a weakness.
Earth people may have few they call true friends, but their friends are in luck. Earth people are unwaveringly loyal and caring to the people around them, always willing to help out. They’re always friendly to people, even strangers they just met, and don’t let them in easily. However, once they trust someone, they’ll be loyal to a fault. They’re also extremely monogamous and make amazing partners.
However, being caring can also be turned into overprotective. They can be stubborn and always think they’re right. If someone close to them isn’t doing something they are and they catch the slightest problem with them, they’ll do everything they can to change that. Sometimes they can force others to do things their way, thinking it will help them. Because of their stubbornness, they’ll try hard to make others do it even if others disagree. However, if they can open up their minds and become more aware, they’ll quickly stop to make sure they don’t hurt the ones they love.

Ice
Ice is solid, but it has the potential to crack and melt. These people are often logical, unyielding, and set on their traditions and beliefs. They always follow the rules, whether good or bad. Ice people are practical, organized, and think with their head.
Similar to their water counterpart, they are also creative. Appreciating beauty and talent, they’re great at fashion and have great aesthetic. They make wonderful artists, interior decorators, and clothing designers. They have a great imagination.
However, ice people can come off as cold and uninviting. Since they’re logical thinkers, not emotional, they can have a difficult time socializing. They don’t open up easily and can be secretive and quiet. They stick to their work and things that will help them get through life; friends aren’t necessarily one of those things.
However, they are very loyal and caring to the friends they do have. Often, their friends are people who are similar to them, for ice people have trouble understanding those who are different. They stick with their inner circle.
Ice people are also relentless and resilient. They don’t take insults personally; they seem to just slide right past them! They can withstand difficult conditions but often think they have to go through that pain alone. They usually prefer cold weather.

Precipitation
There are two kinds of precipitation people: the moody ones and the calm ones.
The moody people vary as much as precipitation varies from hot rain to freezing snow. When they feel quiet and alone, they’ll seem to not even be around. They’ll rarely talk and will mostly dwell with their own thoughts. However, when they’re feeling to socialize and like they belong, they’ll be one of those people who keep the conversation going.
There are five main moods for moody precipitation people: calm, happy rain; energetic rainstorm; angry thunderstorm; caring, kind snow; and isolated, sad snowstorm.
Their moods change quickly and they’re very emotional people. Because of this, they like to express their emotions through creativity, releasing their anger through brush strokes or pounding on the piano or scribbling rapidly in their journal. Some moody precipitation people release their emotions through exercise, however. These athletic people will go for a jog alone in nature, punch the stuffing out of punching bags, or work themselves to the point of exhaustion. They’re very grounded people and like to stay close to home. Moody precipitation people are also introverts, so they can handle socializing but can become tired of it after a period of time. When a moody precipitation person is especially grumpy or upset, they just need some time to themselves to let the emotion wash away on its own. After a good night’s sleep, they usually wake up feeling fresh, revived, and energized, ready to take on the day.
On the other hand, there are calm precipitation people. These people, no matter the type of precipitation, are usually always calm and in check with their emotions. They’re the kind of people who see the good in everything, thinking of rain not as gloomy but as calming; thunderstorms not as scary but as an opportunity to stay inside cuddled up next to a cozy fire with their family. In other words, they’re optimists. Also, they’re very kind, caring, and empathetic, always putting others first. They have a very good balance between thinking with their heads and with their hearts. They have a good balance between high and low, cloud-like or solid. Therefore, because of that good balance, they are generally well-put people and thought to be very wise. They believe in the good of everyone and everything, always trying to make the world a better place. They’re very monogamous and are always thinking about finding their soulmate. When they date someone, they date with the intention to get married and stay together forever, even if the relationship is still new. That’s why they can be very picky when choosing a partner. But once they choose someone, they’ll always stay beside them and don’t mind waiting out a few rough patches.
However, since these people have a good grasp on themselves and have found the perfect balance for them, they might mistake that balance to be the perfect one for everyone else around them. They often want to give advice to other people and help them, but sometimes they do more harm than good because they might come off as pushy, especially if they’re giving the wrong advice.
These people aren’t the most athletic type, but their lack in athletics makes up in their creativity. Calm precipitation people are one of the most creative (though perhaps not as creative as water people) and their imaginations are very vivid. Precipitation comes from the clouds down to the ground, and that’s how they are, too. They love fantasy and magic and are often bringing it into their lives. They usually stick with writing and art where they can express exactly what they’re seeing and feeling. These people have very fantastical dreams and their minds are always filled with something other than reality. They’re always trying to find magic and the supernatural within their everyday lives. They’re good at creating worlds and characters, and their stories are some of the best. They can also be good at creating art and expressing themselves through music as well. Some like to draw out their fantasies so they could actually see them. They love being wrapped around fantasy and are always looking to share that wonderful experience with others, although more realistic people might not see the magic that calm precipitation people see.
Calm precipitation people want their dreams to come true so much that they’re also very ambitious. They’re always working hard to their goals, trying so hard to live out their fantasies. It’s not enough that they can dream and write about them — no, they have to live in them. They want their everyday lives to be wrapped around fantasy. Like precipitation comes from the clouds to the ground, calm precipitation people have the power to bring their dreams to reality.
However, they can also overwork themselves if they get too caught up in their imagination. They believe in honesty and can also be a bit too honest if they’re not careful. They see the good and bad in everything and try hard turn the bad into good and believe mindset is the key to this. They want to change the world, like how precipitation change the world, and sometimes they don’t realize that other people like the world how it is.
Calm precipitation are very peaceful and have much control over their emotions. They’re great at keeping a good mindset and having good mental health. These people are some of the most hardworking types there are, always working to make their dreams come true. They’re extreme optimists and believe in the power of believing. They’re kind, empathetic, and have a good balance over their lives. However, they can also overwork themselves and be too honest with others. Most prefer cool weather, though some do prefer warm weather.

Cloud
Ah, cloud people. They’re light, happy, and calm. These people don’t seem to have a care in the world. They seem to float from place to place, light as a cloud and always smiling.
However, that carelessness can become laziness. They love relaxing and meditation, watching television or reading a book. They are passive, bystanders, watchers.
When they have to do something, they don’t always put in their best effort. They put enough effort to do well, but they’re not overachievers. Cloud people are fine with staying in the middle, as long as others don’t bug them.
That being said, cloud people are major introverts. They like doing things their way, doing things when they want to do it, and putting as much effort as they want to put in. They don’t like others telling them what to do. And when they’re relaxing, they don’t want to be bothered by other people, or by work. This can make them procrastinators.
They’re a bit athletic but don’t do more exercise than the average person would. While they are a bit creative, they usually don’t act on it. They like observing, not doing, so all the stories they intake through television and books are stored in their brain, spiraling around without an outlet. This can lead to them having colorful imaginations and dreams. They do create things once in a while, such as a painting from a scene in a movie or a fanfiction of their favorite characters from a book.
When I say cloud people like to break the rules, I don’t mean that they’re criminals. I mean that they’re different and unique, not really caring what others think. They can find themselves not heterosexual or cisgender, and they’re completely fine with that. However, sometimes they can be nervous to release the news to others.
All in all, cloud people are really chill, in the middle sort of people. They like luxury and when other people do things for them, but they’re also really grateful when they do and they make sure to express that gratitude.

Lightning
People with an affinity for lightning can be explosively passionate sometimes or calm at others. They’re kind and caring to a fault to everyone, no matter who they are. Since they’re so nice to even strangers, they’re amazing friends to the ones who are close to them.
However, lightning people also like to be mischievous and love a good prank. They like pestering their friends and joking with them, but it’s all in good nature. This leads them to having a moderate amount of friends, and they’re not too popular but not lonely either since some people can’t handle their jokes. However, no matter how much they joke with their friends, they’re forever grateful to have them as friends. When they befriend someone but that person treats that wrong, they’ll have a hard time letting go but they recognize that they’re too good for that person anyways.
When they’re alone, they’re very calm. They’ll be very quiet and doing whatever they love best. They’re very athletic and love a nice jog by themselves, listening to their favorite songs. They love music, and feel music has a lot of control over their emotions. Music is a part of a lightning person’s everyday life.
They typically allow their emotions to rule them and they always understand the emotion of a good song.
Even though they’re not the most creative people, they love to sing their favorite songs and therefore can get really good at singing. Sometimes they decide to learn an instrument, and sometimes they don’t.
Lightning people are generally hardworking but they’re also independent and self reliant. They love working on projects with their friends, but if they have to work with other people who they aren’t acquainted with, they’d rather work alone.
Overall, lightning people are impulsive, kind, caring, mischievous, emotional, hardworking, independent, athletic, and they love music. They’re great friends if one can handle their pestering. They also usually prefer warm weather.

Other traits:

Storm Cloud / Thunder
Storm cloud / thunder people (for simplicity, I’ll refer to them as thunder people) take parts from the elements associated to them: cloud, precipitation, and lightning.
Like cloud people, they like doing things their way. They do what they want to do, when they want to do it. However, unlike cloud people, thunder people have the potential to put in effort. Since they only like doing what they want to do, they’ll usually put in the effort for what they want to put the effort in. For example, if a thunder person really like cars, they’ll research about cars, watching videos and reading articles about them. They’ll love driving around and talking about cars, and therefore they’ll be really strong in anything car-related. However, after putting so much time on their interest, they’ll really lack strength in other categories. This can lead thunder people to become really unbalanced. They’ll be amazing at some things and horrible at others.
Talking about doing things their way, that leads to another trait of theirs: they’re extremely stubborn. Thunder people are typically close-minded and don’t really take the advice of others. Even if they’re doing something wrong and people try to correct them, they won’t listen. Thunder people only truly listen to the ones extremely closest to them. They usually don’t have many friends, but they’re okay with that. Out in the world, thunder people might be the ones who bully or who get bullied. They’re not the most social people either, and they tend to be bluntly honest. They might do or say something that other people consider embarrassing, but they consider to be fine.
Similar to lightning people, they’re not exactly the most creative people. They allow their emotions to rule over them, which is also similar to moody precipitation. Since they’re also very stubborn, they’ll find that the naturally stronger emotions wash over them and intensify. They can become angry, stressed, or melancholy easily, and they won’t take others’ advice on what to do in order to calm down. This can be very problematic for a thunder person. Their close-mindedness and stubbornness are their greatest weaknesses.
Like precipitation, they’re introverts. When they’re in a state of unstable emotions, all they need is a little time to themselves to let the emotion wash away; or, sometimes the comforting embrace of one extremely close to them would help. Thunder people can survive if everyone just leaves them alone. It’s not the best solution, but seeing how they are, the only other option would be for one of the extremely close people to help them open up. But even then, that person needs to be able to help them correctly.
Thunder can be good and calm at times and when the mood is right. It’s not to say that everything a thunder person does is wrong; they might very well be one of the best people out there. However, we’re all human; we all make mistakes, and we can all improve. No one’s perfect.

Metal
Metal people make an impact. They are determined, persistent, and concentrated. They’re the people you see who place number one in contests as they’re also competitive, focused, and organized. They’re willing to do the hard work, but they also require the outcome they wanted. They’ll mold themselves into whatever they need to be to get the desired outcome. They’re stubborn, and once they decide something, they don’t change their mind easily.
Metal people are also tough, athletic, and resilient, always working on their mental strength as well as their physical strength. They’re realistic and sometimes pessimistic, but that doesn’t mean they give up easily. Metal people also think with their heads rather than their heart, relying on facts rather than their gut feeling. They like to surround themselves by others like them so they can always challenge each other to get better and stronger.
They’re always on Earth and aren’t very creative. If they’re working on something, they want an outcome that matters. Playing an instrument or writing doesn’t provide that for them. They don’t see the point in doing something that doesn’t help them work towards their goals.
However, that doesn’t mean that they’re no fun, either. They don’t mind taking a break after doing a lot of hard work.

Plant
These people are kind, caring, and loving. They make great friends and always see the good in people. They’re gentle and soft, and almost never raise their voice. They have a strong control over their emotions and aren’t often angry.
Plant people believe in the power of good. Since they’re very nice themselves, they believe everyone else can be the same way. They believe in the power of words rather than violence and are always the mediators. Because of this, they’re amazing at compromising and making everyone feel happy.
However, this can often lead to others walking right over them and taking advantage of them. They can become stressed over trying to fix everyone’s problems; to find a solution to everything. Plant people need to remember that while they can be a soft, delicate flower, they can also be a strong, resilient, grand tree. They need to remember to take some time for themselves as well.
These people are also athletic and enjoy spending time in the outdoors. They usually prefer warm weather and love spring. To them, nature is beautiful and peaceful, and they prefer living in quiet towns rather than bustling cities.
As they are connected to nature, they are also creative and enjoy making art and poetry. They love adding beauty to everything, so their homes are often beautiful and welcoming. They enjoy pottery, interior design, and, depending on the person, fashion. They’re great at taking care of plants and have a green thumb.

Weaknesses:
- Too gentle; can be used.
Gravity
These people are not easily pinned down, and they don’t hear the word “no” easily either. They are adventurous and very competitive, always rushing into things and wanting to take things two steps at a time. They are ambitious, determined, and focused. Because of this, they’re also typically very smart. They achieve many things and their charisma gets them many friends.
That can also make them egotistic, however. Sometimes their confidence grows too big and they think they’re always right. However, when they’re doing something wrong, they know it and aren’t afraid to admit it.
These people are the energetic type, always going towards the danger and looking for an adventure. They’re the kind of people who love horror and thriller movies and who thrive under stress. However, since they’re always looking for a rush, that can lead to procrastination as they want to do exciting things, not boring paperwork. For some gravity people, this might be a good thing since they work faster and harder under pressure. For others, it’s a really bad thing.
They’re also the type to use peer pressure and get others to do dangerous activities with them since they’re extroverts and love to be around people. Gravity people have to remember that not everyone wants an adventure.
These people also love storms. Any type of dramatic weather gets them energized, excited, and inspired.
